Optical Windows
Thin-Film Coating Equipment for Precision Optical Components

Optical windows transmit light within defined wavelength ranges while protecting opto‑electronic systems from environmental exposure. They are used in the aerospace industry for applications such as earth observation, remote sensing, environmental monitoring, altitude and distance measurement, LiDAR, RADAR, camera sensors, pilot vision systems for collision avoidance, and in communication systems.

Their shapes and dimensions vary widely, but they are often implemented as flat glass plates optimized for maximum transmission using double‑sided anti‑reflective (AR) coatings.

The OPTA X platform is engineered specifically for these demands. The PVD coating system supports substrates in diverse geometries and enables fast, simultaneous AR coating of both surfaces, along with the deposition of selective interference filters.

The resulting layers offer strong resistance to climatic stress and abrasion, ensuring long‑term durability.

Furthermore, you can use the OPTA X to deposit transparent conductive ITO layers - either as a top layer or within the mulit-layer stack.
