Large-Area Optics
Coating Equipment for Telescope Mirrors & Large Apertures

Coating large optical surfaces—such as those used in astronomical reflecting telescopes—demands exceptional precision. Modern telescope mirrors can exceed eight meters in diameter and are polished to surface accuracies of around 20 nanometers. When depositing highly reflective aluminum, silver, or gold layers, the coating process must preserve this accuracy and avoid any distortion of the parabolic or hyperbolic mirror shape. In practice, this means achieving nanometer‑level uniformity across the entire surface.

Our magnetron‑sputtering technology is engineered for exactly these challenges. We provide large‑area and specialized coating systems designed to deliver the precision and stability required for high‑performance astronomical optics.
