IBC Solar Cells
Vacuum Coating Equipment & Expertise

The most advanced PV modules today are built on interdigitated back contact (IBC) solar cells. In this architecture, all electrodes are located on the rear side of the cell.

By moving the contacts to the back, the front surface remains completely unobstructed—free of metal fingers. This maximizes light absorption, boosts efficiency, and creates a cleaner, more refined appearance.

Our PVD‑based coating systems deliver the thin‑film layers essential for high‑quality, cost‑efficient IBC cell production. A single platform can deposit a broad range of materials, including TCOs such as ITO and AZO, as well as titanium, copper, and aluminum.
