Multifaceted perspectives

You will be supporting the global purchasing group located in Perrysburg, OH. The field of work includes the bill of material explosion of design bills of materials with subsequent specifications for a need-based procurement of purchased and production parts. Your further responsibilities include:

Taking responsibility together
  • Expanding bills of materials and defining the procurement structure, maintaining the procurement bills of materials, maintaining the material master data and thus managing purchasing responsibilities and process
  • Cases of make or buy decisions under consideration of technical and commercial aspects
  • Requesting and comparing goffers for fulfilling sales orders from suppliers, negotiating prices and delivery times as well as checking and defining sources of supply according to the product group strategy
  • Ensuring that the technical and qualitative requirements of the company’s own specification and the objectives of the respective product group strategy are taken into account when selecting suppliers
  • Administration of purchasing conditions (purchasing info records and order book entries, quotations) as well as regular optimization of these
  • Preparation of the technical specification and clarification of technical queries from suppliers
  • Creation and maintenance of inspection requirements for suppliers
  • Coordination fault messages and support during the complaint process
  • Participation in product group strategies with the strategic purchaser and implementation of these
  • Independent qualification and development of suppliers jointly with the strategic purchaser
  • Support with/ensuring acceptance tests at suppliers
  • Calculating and comparing manufacturing costs for individual parts, assemblies, subassemblies, and products as well as evaluation of target and actual costs, derivation of measures for optimization purposes
  • Close cooperation with Development, Design, Strategic Purchasing, Production, Production Control, Quality Assurance and suppliers
  • Advising the Design Department on the production -ready design of individual parts and assemblies
  • Participation in process optimization and cost management with suppliers and implementation of supplier workshops
Contribute own competencies
  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering and a minimum of 7 years in the field of mechanical and plant engineering, in particular special mechanical plant engineering, business management, broad manufacturing expertise
  • Knowledge of ERP (SAP)
  • Experience in handling and purchasing vacuum parts beneficial (with technical background)
